I Was Told There'd Be Cake!

Sloane Crosley, twenty-something author (I wonder if she'll always be described as a twenty-something author, even when she's, say, my age??) of the collection of humorous essays I Was Told There'd Be Cake and NYC-based book publicist, has been signed to write a new book, Show Me On the Doll. Not sure when the book is due -- probably 2010 -- but in the meantime, you can pick up her current collection, in affordable paperback, and read about her obsession with plastic ponies, among other quirkinesses.
